This week we have been building a small nursery at Panya Forest, using what was already available on the land. The structure stands on an existing concrete platform, giving us a solid base of around 30 m² to work with.
We collected bamboo and other trees from our recent clearing and shaped them into the frame. With machetes, wires, nails, and some plastic covering, the structure came together simply. The roof will be finished with branches, keeping it natural and consistent with the rest of our work here.
The purpose of the nursery is to start seedlings and grow food.
Like much of what we do at Panya Forest, this nursery is about using our current resources, working with our hands, and building in a way that feels natural to the land.
