Lashi Labya Naw Lai

Farm Lead

Lashi Labya Naw Lai is a passionate advocate for sustainable and regenerative agriculture, specializing in livestock and poultry farming.

With hands-on experience in local native chicken breeding, swine management, and animal nutrition, he is dedicated to improving animal welfare through innovative and eco-friendly farming techniques.

Currently a final-year student in the Agriculture and Livestock program at Kachin Theological College in Kutkai, Myanmar, Naw Lai’s studies have been interrupted due to regional conflict. However, his commitment to learning and sustainable farming has led him to gain practical experience through volunteering at Pun Pun Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Thailand. There, he actively participates in local seed-saving initiatives, sustainable farming practices, water filtration techniques, and biochar production.

Beyond farming, Naw Lai extends his advocacy to environmental awareness through podcast production. As a co-producer for environmental podcasts, he shares knowledge on sustainability and ecological restoration, including topics like the role of beavers in nature conservation. He has also undergone specialized training, including the Training for Community Facilitators (TCF) with the Spirit in Education Movement (SEM) and Podcast Workflow Training with the Environmental Defense Team.

Naw Lai’s expertise spans poultry and swine farming, fermented feed production, free-range and semi-range farming systems, and farm animal healthcare. His goal is to preserve Myanmar’s local native seeds and promote sustainable farming practices that benefit both farmers and the environment.

He will contribute his energy and experiences to Panya Forest Community and eagerly to learn from international people and local people at the forest.
